Sheck Wes Speech Cambridge Union (1/2)
Youtube
Sheck Wes rose to almost overnight international fame with his sleeper-hit “Mo Bamba” which went viral in mid-2018. The track, recorded in one take in under 20 minutes, travelled by word of mouth online to go from an unceremonious Soundcloud upload to a global party banger and sold-out arena performances. Sheck was catapulted from relative obscurity and fame limited to his home, Harlem, to prestigious cosigns from Kanye West and Travis Scott and great commercial success with the release of his debut album “Mudboy” in October 2018, which reached the Top 20 in the Billboard 200. Sheck is by no means a one-dimensional talent – the self-titled Mudboy is a prominent model, walking in Paris Fashion Week 2020 and featuring in the “MONCLERBEYOND Project”. He is part of “JACKBOYS”, a collective of rappers signed to Travis Scott’s “Cactus Jack Records” with whom he recently released the eponymous “JACKBOYS” compilation tape which opened atop the Billboard 200 and became the first number one album of the new decade.
